What Is Polyaspartic Flooring?
Polyaspartic flooring is an alternative to epoxy or urethane coating when restoring and enhancing your floor. It involves adding what is know as an aliphatic polyurea coating to your floor as a protective layer. Originally used for construction purposes such as coating steel girders on bridges due to its strong corrosion-resistant properties, polyaspartic coatings are now commonly found in concrete floor surfacing applications in much the same way epoxy and polyurethane coatings are.
What Are the Benefits of Polyaspartic Flooring?
Polyaspartic flooring is flexible, impact-resistant and leaves you with a brightly-colored floor with a high-gloss finish that lasts, and can even be applied to wood. Polyaspartics are a fast-setting resinous flooring system, and it allows the installer to apply multiple coats in 1 day, whereas epoxies are typically limited to 1 coat per day.
